Olympics of Reality Singing Shows 2016: #25 Fire - Daniël Kist & Kelvin Muïs / The Voice Holland

25. FIRE

Daniël Kist & Kelvin Muïs
The Voice Holland

An utterly irresistible combo! The duo took some liberties with the melody - while never disrespecting the original song - and showcased between them some impressive pipes, innate musicality, and palpable vocal chemistry. This was really good that the collective voice of the jury landed them a spot in this year's countdown.

Olympics of Reality Singing Shows 2016: The Honorable Mentions

On it's fourth year, the Olympics of Reality Singing Shows is back - and now, with a logo!

Just like last year, DAM NATION assembled thirty (30) reality singing show enthusiasts from different countries to come up with a definite list of the 25 Best Reality Singing Show Performances of the year from the four (4) biggest franchises - The Voice, Idol, X Factor, Got Talent - across the globe.

Yes, we're talking about editions of The Voice from Albania, Nigeria, Holland, USA and more, as well as editions of X Factor from Greece, Italy, Brazil and more, or even the Idol franchise from Norway, Netherlands, and America. It was a fun little challenge for this year's panel.

Now, let's begin the countdown with the five [5] performances that ALMOST made the cut.

DAM NATION Year-End List: 10 Worst Movies of 2016

Now that we've looked at the Best Films of 2016, we like to turn the spotlight on the worst. This year has had its fair share of films that fizzled faster than we expected and it's time to look back at the movies that didn't just disappoint, but caused us the most pain. Haha.

And just like my "best" list, it’s not physically and financially possible for me to go and watch ALL films that were released this year, so you may not find some of the garbage here.

Read on to see what made the shortlists and let us know in the comments what made yours.

DAM NATION Year-End List: 20 Best Movies of 2016

Like every year, 2016 seems to have gone by far too quickly. But, like almost every year, 2016 was filled to the brim with a couple of great movies. From moving dramas to the usual big summer blockbusters, and endless movie franchises, DAM NATION had its work cut out sifting through all the diverse, and downright good films of 2016.

One thing though, it’s not physically and financially possible for me to go and watch ALL films that were released this year, so you may not find some of them here. And yes, I regret to say that I haven't seen the other early Oscar favorites, so again, you will not see them on this list.

DAM NATION Year-End List: 25 Songs of 2016

In 2016, we just worked and worked and worked, and even when we're home, we still worked. But since we're a motherf*ckin' Starboy, we went for some cheap thrills, rode someone's rover, met a dangerous woman who's walking from side to side, and we get in formation. In the end, all we needed was that one dance. Yup, that's probably the best way to sum up another spectacular year for mainstream pop music, so let's have the songs do it for us instead.

Just like every year, these are my picks for the 25 Songs of 2015: endless songs about love (as usual), a tribute for a departed friend, and even ditties with a lot of questions. These are the songs that I've shared on this blog at some point over the past 12 months.

Of course, this is admittedly a subjective list based on my personal judgments and preferences, but this list should also be a great conversation starter and feel free to agree or disagree. Either way there is a lot of great mainstream music - again, take note, MAINSTREAM MUSIC - to be found here.

DAM NATION: December 2016 Playlist

Here's the final playlist for 2016! another list of 15 songs that I (personally) fancy, that are already doing good on it's own and maybe some new singles from different artists that will probably - or maybe not - be hits in the next coming weeks in whatever format.

Enjoy!

X Factor UK 13: Finale

Finally! This horrendous season will end this weekend and I'm ecstatic. I mean, this season started really strong and entered the live show with probably the worst possible combination of finalists out of talents to pick from. Also, the judges have been awful. Nicole Scherzinger, in particular, was an attention hogger the entire season - and her duet with Matt Terry tonight was annoying. Ugh.

On with the show!
