American Idol Faceoff: Who Sang It Better? (Top 4 Edition)

We only have 3 songs to cover this week - out of 8 - but two of them were previously performed by American Idol Winners, one by possibly a well-loved contestant, and one song is even Kristy Lee Cook's best performance on American Idol. So, this is going to be very interesting, I think.

Clearly, all now songs that were performed by the contestants debuted on American Idol this year, so there's nothing to write about it in this post. There were, however, four songs to vote on this week! Yay!

Yes, this post is becoming more and more irrelevant for some weird reason. I mean, these kids are choosing songs that are relatively new to the show. But of course, I don't want to complain just because it is a good thing and eventually, I might drop this post altogether.

For the meantime, I have two songs for you to decide who sang it better/best. Enjoy!

American Idol Faceoff: Who Sang It Better? (Top 7 Edition)

If American Idol continues the trend, this post is going to be non-existent in the next coming weeks. Haha.

Last week, 5 songs debuted on American Idol, which means only 3 songs were covered by past contestants. This week, however, an unprecedented 6 out of 7 songs debuted on American Idol. Yes, we only have one song to put here and it's from people I'm not a fan of. Go figure!

Anyway, here goes nothing..

American Idol Faceoff: Who Sang It Better? (Top 8 Edition)

We are back! It's interesting to note that five of the eight songs last week were making their American Idol debuts, and ONLY three were sung before and just once. That's pretty impressive. Maybe the show told them to cover less obvious songs?

Again, this is just for fun, that's why I'm making things here interactive!

American Idol Faceoff: Who Sang It Better? (Top 9 Edition)

Last week was pretty insane with all the fan wars that happened on a particular song that eventually exploded to 11K votes (currently). This week, as the contestants performed Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, I wonder if it will happen again. One interesting thing about this week though is that 3 out of the 5 songs here were performed by American Idol Winners - Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Kris Allen. So, let's see..

Oh, and I mentioned last week that the song Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me is actually a cursed song and that we have to wait and see if it will affect the contestant who covered it last week. Guess what? Pia Toscano got eliminated! Insane no?

American Idol Faceoff: Who Sang It Better? (Top 11 Redux Edition)

This week, they performed songs of Elton John - a theme that was last tackled on Season 3. It's interesting how less than half of them covered songs that were previously done on the show compared to the 10/11 overdone performances from last week's Motown.

Oh, and notice how one song got covered so many times - currently the most covered song on American Idol history along with Against All Odds - that 4 of them went on to become JUST runners-up on their respective seasons, one 3rd placer and the other one got eliminated on a Top 13 season. Cursed song? Let's see the fate of the contestant who covered it this season.

We're now on our third week of Who Sang It Better? They performed the tired theme of Motown, so it isn't surprising that 10 of the 11 songs were already covered on the show.

This is one of the two additional features that I'll post in this year's American Idol. Yes, the American Idol Faceoff! As we all know, the show is already on it's 10th season and it's almost inevitable for songs not to be covered more than once. In fact, America's favorite singing competition features plenty of overdone tunes that no contestant should ever bring to that Idol' stage again!

But this is just for fun, so I'm making things here interactive!
