Music Video: Wasted Love - Matt McAndrew

Arguably, the best original song out of all The Voice finalist this season, Matt McAndrew's Wasted Love sounds like a potential hit. It's a soaring sound with an almost anthemic melody that's quite memorable. Plus, his voice was surprisingly distinctive. Awesome.

Music Video: Velvet - Chris Jamison

Check out Chris Jamison's music video for Velvet - his original song from The Voice Finale. Watching and listening to this further strengthened my belief that this guy is probably the best bet of The Voice to actually have a successful artist after the show. The cool retro vibe of the song perfectly fits Chris' solid vocals and fantastic falsetto and with the right promotion and people behind him, he's ready to go.

Music Video: Soldier - Damien

Watch Damien's music video for his original song Soldier that's arguably the best possible sound for him to prove that he can be a current and viable recording artist - more than an old fashioned ballad singer. It has a relatively solid melody and a catchy hook. I doubt this will sell a ton, but it's a good enough effort.

Music Video: My Baby's Got A Smile On Her Face - Craig Wayne Boyd

Here's Craig Wayne Boyd's music video for his song, My Baby's Got A Smile On Her Face. Not particularly a fan of country music and as I much I wanted to enjoy this, I honestly couldn't get into it. It's awfully generic and sounded like a Blake Shelton reject - well, he wrote it! Haha. That said, I know there's a huge market for this kind of music, and this could be a good vehicle for his career post-The Voice.

Music Video: Heart of Dixie - Danielle Bradbery

Today, The Voice US Season 5 premieres and in time for that, Season 4 Winner, Danielle Bradbery debuts her music video of her first single, Heart of Dixie.

I never doubted Danielle Bradbery's potential to probably be the most successful contestant to come out of The Voice US - aside from Cassadee Pope - and this video proved that she could very well be a marketable country artist. Not sure about the song as I still find it a bit old for her - can't she have something more upbeat for her age? - but this is quite a lovely video. It's sweet, believable and mesmerizing. Let's see how she'll do once her album comes out.

Music Video: Tonight - Jessica Sanchez (ft. Ne-Yo)

Right on the heels of her blazing performance of her debut single, Tonight featuring Ne-Yo, on American Idol. Jessica Sanchez releases the official music video of the song. Yes, the single is available now!

To coopt Nicki Minaj's favorite words, "I'm obsessed with this song!" Haha. Sure, Tonight is generic when compared to other mainstream pop music, but Jessica sold this song convincingly. It's fun, young, catchy and hip. I'd stab myself if she released a ballad a la Change Nothing for a single because that will never do her any favors. It's just fascinating to see the young lady, which I was blogging last year here, grew up to be a potential pop star. Enjoy!

Music Video: Jump In - Jessica Sanchez and Apl.de.Ap

I didn't know Jessica Sanchez even had the time to record and shoot a music video for another advertisement - apparently, for SMART Communications - in the Philippines. Here's her new music video Jump In with Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap, who's also a Filipino.

Not bad. I think the tune is light, young and should appeal to her age group. It's not the greatest song, but Jessica gives life to it. I also like the glossy production of the music video. To be honest, I'm actually hoping for her upcoming album to sound slightly like this with a bit of an edge and some R&B mixed into it. Oh, and can we have details of her record already? Enjoy!

Music Video: Don't Fail Me Now - Melanie Amaro

.. and I thought they're pushing for another single for Melanie Amaro, X Factor US Season 1 Winner, instead of this? I digress. Here is her debut single, Don't Fail Me Now, which will be part of her still untitled album to come out December 4, 2012.

I admit, I didn't like the song that much - it sounded mediocre compared to the materials given to other X Factor US alums: Marcus Canty, Rachel Crow and Chris Rene - but this song is quite a grower despite the auto-tuning. She looks lovely in this music video, but other than that, there's really nothing remarkable to say about it. While she may have a pretty impressive voice, it's ironic that I don't see any X Factor in her. Sue me.

Music Video: In & Out - Marcus Canty (ft. Wale)

Look! It's Marcus Canty's new music video for his second single, In & Out. If you don't know him, Marcus is X Factor US 4th placer and now a recording artist under Epic Records.

Now, the music video looks amateurish, but let me say that this single is actually pretty solid. People can trash - and yes, that somehow includes me - this show all they want, but X Factor US for the most part give their alums superior material from Chris Rene to Rachel Crow and to this. Melanie Amaro, the winner, is another topic, but whatever. I personally think that this song eats Stefano Langone's song for breakfast. Haha. Not the type of song you'd normally hear out of a singing show - yes, American Idol and The Voice - and this is as current as it gets. Enjoy!

Music Video: Home - Phillip Phillips

 

Talk about perfect timing no? After the song hits #1 on iTunes AGAIN - thanks to the Olympics exposure that the song got during the Girls Gymnastics Team competition - Phillip Phillips debut the music video for his coronation single, Home.

Despite the fact that this has no proper narrative, I must say that the music video is ridiculously arresting. I felt a certain level of authenticity to this and somehow the "style" fits the song perfectly. Laid back. Honest. Simple. Add to that Phillip's screen charisma and yes, we have a winner! Enjoy!

Music Video: Blown Away - Carrie Underwood

Finally, the long wait is here! Here's Carrie Underwood's new music video for her second single, Blown Away, off her latest studio album of the same title. 

To me, this is probably one of Carrie Underwood's better music videos conceptually and visually. Yes, it's not perfect - I felt the ending to be a bit sudden and almost an afterthought - but it's quite a powerful video combined with the actual song. Beautiful cinematography. Great acting. Stunning Carrie. Enjoy!

Music Video: I'm On A Roll - Stefano Langone

Oh, look! It's Stefano Langone's (7th Place, Season 10) music video for his debut single, I'm On A Roll, which he also performed a couple of weeks ago on American Idol.

Admittedly, I hated the song when I first heard it - it sounded so amateurish and a bit dumb - but it's growing on me. I think it fits in whatever pop radio is playing right now and for someone who went out at 7th, the song is a solid effort for Stefano. The video is hilarious if a bit cheesy, but that's him. Oh, and Casey Abrams' cameo is like the best part. Haha. Enjoy!

Music Video: Dark Side - Kelly Clarkson

It's finally out! Kelly Clarkson just debuted her third single, Dark Side, new music video off her latest album, Stronger. I must say, I really LOVE this new Kelly Clarkson era!

This is possibly one of my favorite tracks in her album and yes, I kind of enjoy this music video. It's pretty straightforward with a nice uplifting theme. And is it just me or she's looking extremely gorgeous and fresh in her past three music videos. I never got into the whole Kelly Clarkson bandwagon until My December, and I regret it now. She's fantabulous and now easily one of my favorite American Idols EVER! Enjoy!

Music Video: Good Girl - Carrie Underwood

Here's Carrie Underwood's new music video for her latest single, Good Girl. Carrie’s fourth studio album, Blown Away, and is due to hit stores this coming May 1, 2012.

I really like the song - it reminds me of the edginess of Before He Cheats, which was a massive hit for her - but the music video gives me a bit of a headache. She looks stunning as always, but it's just like a huge fashion show that got lost with the plot - if there's actually any. To me, they could have made more of a story out of it to relate to the song, but does it really matter? Haha. I think Carrie has another definite hit on her hands with Good Girl. Enjoy!

Music Video: Respect - Melanie Amaro (Pepsi Commercial)

Here's X Factor US Winner, Melanie Amaro's full music video of Respect with Elton John. This Pepsi commercial was part of the Superbowl Ad line up, which is also one of Melanie's prizes.

Well, there's no denying that Melanie can really sing, but somehow she just doesn't have, ironically, the X Factor. Plus, I actually found her voice surprisingly shrill on the actual song, but I admit, I could see it getting some club play. Anyway, enjoy!

Music Video: Better Than I Know Myself - Adam Lambert

Here's Adam Lambert's new single, Better Than I Know Myself, off his second album, Trespass, which will be released later this year.

I actually like this video. It combines the Adam of For Your Entertainment and the Adam of Whataya Want From Me. It's beautifully conceptualized and well-executed. Plus, the production and cinematography are fantastic. Enjoy!

Music Video: Georgia Peaches - Lauren Alaina

Here's Lauren Alaina's music video for her debut single, Georgia Peaches, off her album Wildflower.

I admit, I like her song - and yes, her album is slightly better than Scotty McCreery - and this video is really cute. It has that nice true teenage vibe, which is flirty but without being crass and trashy. It's a fun little video. Enjoy!

Music Video: Want U Back - Cher Lloyd (ft. Astro)

I love it when reality show talents collaborate with each other. Here's Cher Lloyd's (UK X Factor Finalist) new single, Want U Back, with Astro (US X Factor Finalist). This is her follow up single after her two hits, Swagger Jagger and With Ur Love (ft. Mike Posner).

The song is cute and arguably catchy and so is the video, but somehow Astro's rap could've been a lot better - he should've come harder. But that's just me nitpicking. I mean, when I just listen, it seems to be a pretty good fit. Enjoy!

Music Video: What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) - Kelly Clarkson

Here's Kelly Clarkson's new music video for her single, What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger), off her latest album, Stronger.

The concept is kind of common, but it's goofy in a good way. I like that she's actually channeling her pop star qualities and is dancing! Haha. The song has an incredibly catchy hook and she looks ridiculously gorgeous in this music video. This song should be a big hit for Kelly.

Music Video: Beautiful - Katharine McPhee (SMASH TV Series)

.. and NBC is now going all out for their new musical series, SMASH, which will debut February 6, 2012. Aside from the fact that I'm into TV musicals like Glee or anything that has music in it on television- you know what I'm pertaining to - this series also stars Katharine McPhee, American Idol Season 5 Runner-up.

It's common knowledge to everyone - or maybe to just a few people - that I adore Katharine with a passion. I've been rooting for her since the auditions of Season 5 and to actually see her get a gig this big and something that's an uncharted territory for an Idol alumna, I'm quite excited. She tried so hard to make a career after American Idol - with her two albums (one of which I thought was awesome) and a couple of movies under her belt - and a starring role about an aspiring actress makes me all giddy. I hope this is it for her! Oh, and she looks unbelievably gorgeous. Just saying.
