Ok. I'm so sorry for the annoying delay of the studio versions this week. But here it is, thanks to HIM - one of the blog's contributors. Yay!! Good thing, this is a good solid batch of songs. Worth the wait, I guess.
RANDOM THOUGHTS: I surprisingly have a couple of favorites this week. Haley Reinhart sounds sensational on her recording. It didn't sound karaoke, contrary to Randy's critique on her live performance. James Durbin also delivered a pretty authentic version of Heavy Metal. I personally wouldn’t put heavy metal as my favorite type of music, but this is a good one. Paul McDonald's studio version is absolutely fun. It's infectious even. His live performance fell a little short for me on execution, but I must say I enjoyed the recording. I love Casey Abrams too! It has less growl and the unnecessary affectations, which makes it even more understated. I like how quiet the recording is compared to the others. Lauren Alaina has solid vocals, same with Scotty McCreery. I prefer Jacob Lusk's live performance. As for Stefano Langone, it's ok, I just didn't like the production value - too cheesy.
Paul McDonald: Old Time Rock and Roll
Lauren Alaina: The Climb
Stefano Langone: End Of The Road
Scotty McCreery: I Cross My Heart
Casey Abrams: Nature Boy
Haley Reinhart: Call Me
Jacob Lusk: Bridge Over Troubled Water
James Durbin: Heavy Metal
