Movie Review: Insidious: Chapter 3

Insidious: Chapter 3, to me, was an unnecessary entry to the franchise. It was formulaic, it was predictable, and it was disappointing. It relied heavily on highly predictable jump scares that it cheapened the whole proceedings. There was no subtlety to the script or the direction, things got repetitive towards the end, and when the entity was revealed, it was never truly frightening. It wasn't as atmospheric as it's predecessors, which made this a lot less satisfying for a horror flick. Insidious: Chapter 3 wasn't necessarily bad - it still delivered some of its scare tricks decently - but it was mediocre at best. 5
