RANDOM THOUGHTS: Somehow, Lauren Alaina's studio version of If I Die Young is possibly one of the best recordings this season. Her vocals are shockingly powerful on this tune and she sounds very contemporary. Why can't she bring this on her live performances? Haley Reinhart, on the other hand, is also pretty good. I like her riffs, those jazzy phrasing and the dynamics of her vocals are pretty impressive. Scotty McCreery is, well, the usual Scotty McCreery. That is all.

I was really hoping for You Oughta Know studio version.
Guys, I don't think the contestants recorded anything else other than these three songs. I doubt that they had enough time to do the recording, mixing and whatnot because they had homecomings last week.
