The Voice 5: Top 6 Results Show

Only one person got eliminated tonight, and while it was sad to see the person go, it was hardly surprising. That said, this has to be one of the fastest frontrunner backlash in the history of reality singing shows. Somehow, I blame the coach though as the song choices recently of this fallen contestant was just bland and predictable compared to when it was the contestant's song choice.

Results after the jump!

SAFE
Jacquie Lee
Cole Vosbury
Tessanne Chin
Will Champlin

BOTTOM 2
Matthew Schuler
James Wolpert - Saved by Instatweet

I think Matthew was only a front runner in your eyes (and maybe a handful of other people who voted for him to keep him around this long).

Personally, I would never have even turned my chair for him during the blinds...and I was thoroughly confused when he got a 4 chairs after a few seconds.

That being said, I would have send James home before Matthew. But it really doesn't matter much to me who goes home as long as Jacquie and Tessanne are safe.

BTW, Jacquie is _amazing_! I seriously don't understand your criticism of her. Tessanne probably has the best "pure" voice, but Jacquie, to me, has the best "all-round" voice in the competition... there's a lot of flavor to it, for lack of a better description.

If you look into Matthew's iTunes sales since his blind auditions, you'd know that he's been a clear frontrunner this season - unless you're not paying that much attention.

As for Jacquie, if screaming or shouting to you adds "flavor", then it's fine. But it's obviously NOT for everyone. And when you say "all around" voice, what do you mean by that? She faltered during her Clarity version, which supposed to showcase a nuanced side of her vocals. I'm not hating, I think Jacquie has a lot of potential, but I don't criticize her for the sake of criticizing. :)

I don't put too much stock into itunes sales... and obviously good sales don't necessarily equal high number of votes.
You say that Jacquie's voice isn't for everyone, yet you're the only one I've ever heard criticize her. So, not for everyone, just most people =)
Also, not understanding what you mean by "faltered". I don't recall completely, but I don't remember anything wrong with it (aside from maybe a pitch issue here and there...and EVERYONE has had that issue once in a while).
Whatever though, I hardly ever agree with you anyways, so why should now be any different.

Well, you're arguing about the "frontrunner" status of Matthew and not about votes. iTunes can be indicative of how popular they are AT THAT MOMENT. Just take a moment and read what I wrote thoroughly. :) Votes can be bloated as one person can vote a number of times. iTunes downloads aren't the same. Common sense.

As for Jacquie Lee, well maybe you're not reading well enough no? Have you tried browsing twitter feeds DURING her performances? Have you tried reading other blogs that follow the show? Again, I'm not saying Jacquie is terrible, all I'm saying is her tone grates on me. If it's not the case for you, then GOOD! By all means, listen to all her recording. She'd be so happy. :)

Anyway, if you hardly agree with me, then it's fine. I don't blog to please everyone. I respect your opinion, and you do the same for me. Cheers!

I like James. I think with the right song, he could pull off another A Case of You moment. If not, then I'm sure he'd get the boot next week coz there seems to be a pattern. All of the contestants that are saved the previous week went home the next week.

I think Matthew was good too, I just don't like how he performs on stage. It always looks like he's having a seizure or something. lol.

Really surprised Adam's team are all still there. Although, Blake have a good chance of winning again this season. Cole's performances are really consistent, in my opinion.

Also, I don't like Jacquie's screeching voice as well.
