X Factor UK 11: Top 9

What were they thinking? I get it. Queen and Michael Jackson have fantastic repertoires, but their songs were so overdone with these singing shows, it doesn't excite me one bit. Good thing, a couple of them delivered solid performances, but in general, this was an okay episode.

On with the show!

09. Lauren Platt
I'll Be There
[GIRLS]
Being boring is worst than being terrible. And no, this wasn't terrible.

08. Stevi Ritchie
Bohemian Rhapsody
[OVERS]
Now, this was terrible, albeit oddly entertaining.

07. Paul Akister
Don't Stop Me Now
[BOYS]
As usual, his vocals were decent, but this lacked oomph to even be just a tad memorable.

06. Jay James
The Show Must Go On
[OVERS]
The first part was beautiful and the arrangement was smart, but when the song demanded power, he just wasn't able to deliver.

05. Only The Young
Blame It On The Boogie
[GROUPS]
As much as I hated the girls' vocals, this was pretty entertaining. There's cohesion to the performance that I enjoyed.

04. Andrea Faustini
Somebody To Love
[BOYS]
Same old. Same old. I'm starting to get bored.

03. Fleur East
Will You Be There
[OVERS]
This was a nice departure from the heavy production we usually get from Fleur. Solid vocals backed with a commanding presence.

02. Ben Haenow
Man In The Mirror
[OVERS]
I didn't like the acapella part as he sounded like he was rushing the words, but when the music kicked in, it was fantastic.

01. Stereo Kicks
You Are Not Alone
[GROUPS]
Crazy creepy fan aside, this was probably one of their strongest performances to date. Solo vocals were really good.
