Movie Review: Chronicle

[The DAM Nation]
Chronicle was a pleasant surprise. The story in itself was nothing terribly new or original, but it was incredibly compelling that it seemed fresh relative to its contemporaries. The execution was utterly realistic, the writing was witty and there's a delightful balance of humor, drama and suspense. Plus, there's a good amount of character development, which was shocking, and the three unknown main actors pulled off their roles quite impressively. Not the best film I've seen EVER, but what it sets out to achieve, it does brilliantly. 8.5/10

[The Young Flaneur]
The superhero genre has been explored in so many ways in the last decade that there’s nothing really new in this movie. The found footage approach was well-played considering the main character has telekinesis, but also brought lots of plot holes and unsolved endings. I had fun watching it, and the motion-tracking was superb but be warned, in the tradition of The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity (aside from halfway to it you'll get a bit bored), the movie ends in. 10/10

It successfully defied my expectation. The plot was well-built since the beginning, though the pace was a little too slow, and the use of their powers is explored amazingly. Don't really understand though why they shot it in clovervield-style because it didn't give any extra sensation since they move from one camera to others. The lady seemed like only a plot device with no significant role, it would be better if she had a conflict with the crazy guy fighting over the good guy, just saying. 8/10

It is all about what Blair Witch Project follows to get success.
